About Nicole, The Founder of Organized Haven
Memberships and Qualifications |
Originally from Miami, Florida, Nicole moved to Central Florida in 1992, 5 days before Hurricane Andrew. Before she finished high school, she started college courses and went on to receive her Associates Degree in Business Administration, specializing in Management. She learned more organizational skills during her 13-year career in banking, where she was a resourced organizational guru at the credit union branches she managed.
Although she had always been an organized person, Nicole struggled to maintain an organized home during her transition into motherhood in 2012. Finding her way through that stage of her life in a small home with no storage, she used her journey of learning how to declutter and downsize the contents of her home to help others through the same or similar organizational challenges. Nicole started her independent Professional Organizing business in 2013 in an effort to help others organize through all of life's stages. Four years later, Nicole's husband Danny joined her as her partner at Organized Haven, now a full-service moving, downsizing, and estates company. They and their team offer home and office organizing, downsizing and estate sales, senior move management, aging-in-place services, space planning, moving, packing & unpacking, home inventories, estate clearing, and staging homes for sale. Organized Haven specializes in assisting older adults & their families who are facing the overwhelming task of decluttering & downsizing and either moving or aging-in-place. Senior service advocates, senior living communities, realtors, estate attorneys, and others in the community rely on the physical and emotional support Organized Haven provides to their seniors and their families. "Some fun facts about me"...
"I am originally a self-taught Professional Organizer, using my extensive experience in managing credit union branches, my education in Business Management, and my extreme love for organization as stepping stones when I started my exciting venture in 2013. Since then, I and my team have completed numerous training programs with the very best associations in my field...
Our Professional Organizers are members of the National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals (NAPO), the leading source of exceptional education, enhancing business connections, advancing industry research, and increasing public awareness for Organizing and Productivity Professionals. As Professional NAPO Members, we take professional development courses and have been awarded specialist certificates in Residential Organizing, Life Transitions, Workplace Productivity, Household Management, Brain-Based Conditions, and Team Productivity. Also, I am a member of NAPO's "Working with Seniors" Special Interest Group, giving me additional opportunities to learn how to best serve the organizing needs of seniors, as well as the "Multi-Person Business" Special Interest Group, giving me additional opportunities to learn how to best serve my clients and my team members. We adhere to NAPO's Code of Ethics, a set of principles that guides our professional conduct with our clients, colleagues, and community. Members of NAPO pledge to exercise judgment, self-restraint, and conscience in their conduct in order to establish and maintain public confidence in the integrity of NAPO members and to preserve and encourage fair and equitable practices among all who are engaged in our profession. Read more here. As a Certified Senior Move Manager®, myself and the Organized Haven team are trained members of the National Association of Senior & Specialty Move Managers (NASMM), the leading membership organization for Senior Move Managers in the United States, Canada and abroad. NASMM is recognized for its innovative programs and expertise related to Senior Move Management, transition and relocation issues affecting older adults. My team is professionally trained to understand how to work with older adults as it relates to moving, aging-in-place, helping those with hoarding tendencies, dementia and cognitive decline, memory and forgettery, communication matters, and packing and unpacking. We sign and abide by NASMMs strict Code of Ethics and are supported by the NASMM Ethics Compliance Commission, which guides our conduct, and we are vetted for experience prior to being referred. Read more here. In 2020, NASMM awarded Organized Haven with their A+ Accreditation for its excellence in Senior Move Management operations and client services! Locally, I am a member (and the 2020/2021 President of the Board) of Better Living for Seniors Coalition of Polk County. Better Living for Seniors is a non-profit professional coalition of public, private, and volunteer agencies and individuals providing services to seniors in Polk County, Florida. We meet once per month to discuss senior challenges and awareness of local services available to them. If you are interested in speaking to our group or hosting a meeting location, please e-mail your request to me at Nicole@OrganizedHaven.com." |
