1. Don't Mess
Take inventory of what you have and be utilitarian: keep only what you need. That includes pictures, ornaments, or memorabilia that bring you joy. Everything else should go! Sell valuable items, donate anything that's been gently used, and recycle what you can.
Try to limit what you put in the landfill but don't be afraid to get rid of things that you never use. Afterward, stay on top of it! If you struggle to keep things tidy, try giving yourself a single designated clutter area, like a drawer or a basket to keep things small.
