Being disorganized can mean something completely different from person to person. For some, it can be the case of an accumulation of clutter that results from grief, illness, the birth of a child or any other life changes and events. For others, it can be more of a life-long battle with chronic disorganization that affects almost every aspect of their lives.
So, how do you know if you need to get help? Here are just a few of the main reasons why you might be so impacted by your disorganization that you should definitely get help from a professional:
You are overwhelmed, stressed and exhausted by your lack of organization. You have gotten to the point where you can no longer function in your space, but you just don’t know where to start or what to do and you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.
You are spending way too much money on late fees!
You are just tired of opening the mail to find that you forgot to pay another bill on time and there’s another $30 you have flushed down the toilet! There’s got to be a way that you can organize your finances and avoid these useless fees, but you have no idea how to create a system that works.
You spend a large amount of time searching for things that you know you have, but you don’t know where you put them!
In addition to wasting money on late fees, you also waste time looking for things, because they don’t have a designated spot for them to go where you can find them when you need them.
You are constantly missing appointments and other deadlines!
You would love to be the person who is on time to everything and who completes assignments well before they are due… but you are not! You are tired of missing appointments and ready to make a change, but you've said that plenty of times before and the change never came!
You don’t have the physical strength to declutter on your own!
You have a back problem or other medical condition that limits your ability to bend up and down or lift heavy objects. You know that you need assistance if you are to get it done at all!
That is just a short list of reasons to hire a professional organizer. People and their organizational challenges are unique as well as the systems that will work for them. That is why hiring a professional is a good idea. You could just simply have a friend or family member help you, but will they truly help you get and stay organized with zero judgment?
Never be embarrassed about needing help with organization. Just as there are Professional Cleaners, there are Professional Organizers. If you feel that you cannot handle it alone, hire one to not only get you organized, but keep you organized! You will be glad you did!
